The Australian Government is offering a 30% discount on eligible small-scale battery systems for households and small businesses. The discount amount depends on the battery’s usable capacity and will phase out by 2030.

This initiative supports the shift to clean energy by making it easier and more affordable to store excess solar power. By reducing reliance on gas generation and grid infrastructure, you can significantly lower your energy costs and increase energy independence.

How It Works
The discount is applied at the point of sale through participating solar and battery retailers under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), now updated to include batteries. The program is administered by the Clean Energy Regulator .
